On the morning of March 27, 2025, at Room 704, Ho Hao Hon Street Campus, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dong Eui University (South Korea). The cooperation program aims to promote academic exchange, scientific research, and cultural interaction between the two universities, contributing to improving the quality of education and expanding learning opportunities for students.
Representing Ho Chi Minh City Open University were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President, and Dr. Nguyen Thuy Nga – Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Representing Dong Eui University (South Korea) were Dr. Han Soo-whan – President, and Dr. Lee Imgeun – Vice President in charge of External Relations, along with other faculty members from both institutions.
At the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha stated: “With over 35,000 learners and a post-graduation employment rate of over 95%, Ho Chi Minh City Open University always prioritizes improving training quality, research, and international cooperation, especially student exchange programs with South Korea. We hope that soon, both sides will implement many practical and effective collaborative projects, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources and creating new opportunities for students from both universities”.
Speaking on behalf of Dong Eui University, Dr. Han Soo-whan shared: “We are aware that Ho Chi Minh City Open University is a prestigious educational institution with strong academic and research capabilities. We are honored to partner with your university and believe that this collaboration will bring significant development opportunities for both sides”.
During the ceremony, representatives from both universities exchanged ideas on the direction of collaboration and expressed their desire to jointly develop high-quality human resources through joint training programs such as the 2+2 and 3+1 models, as well as cooperation in postgraduate education. Additionally, academic exchange programs, student exchanges, and extracurricular activities were also discussed to strengthen the bond between the two universities. Students participating in the program will study in English and receive Korean language training to enhance their career prospects and work more effectively with Korean enterprises.
This event marks a new milestone in the partnership between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Dong Eui University (South Korea), opening up numerous development opportunities and practical benefits for students, while also promoting academic exchange and research cooperation between the two institutions.
