On the morning of September 8th, 2025, in Room 704, Ho Hao Hon Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University solemnly held an honouring ceremony for Dr. Senior Lecturer Nguyen Thuy Nga – Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The ceremony was organised to recognise and commemorate her more than 30 years of dedicated commitment to education, scientific work, and the University’s development.
In attendance at the ceremony were officers and staff from Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Faculty of Foreign Languages, including:
- Dr. Do Sa Ky – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council;
- Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the University, together with members of the executive team and staff of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Delivering remarks at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, expressed his profound gratitude and acknowledgement for the devoted service of Dr. Senior Lecturer Nguyen Thuy Nga throughout her career. He affirmed that her significant contributions not only laid a solid foundation for the Faculty of Foreign Languages but also played an essential role in the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

For over three decades, Dr. Senior Lecturer Nguyen Thuy Nga has achieved notable milestones in teaching, research, and academic administration. She has consistently played a pioneering role in training activities and shaping professional educational standards. Not only a dedicated educator, but also a highly respected colleague who has always committed herself to the collective’s growth and the development of generations of students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Nga emotionally shared:
“Throughout my professional journey, I have received meaningful support, guidance, and companionship from the University’s executive board as well as my colleagues. It has been an honour to be part of the University’s development and to witness its progress over the years. I firmly believe that, with continued unity and effort, the Faculty of Foreign Languages will further strengthen its achievements and continue to flourish in the years ahead.”

Having received the announcement of retirement at an extended age under current national regulations, Dr. Senior Lecturer Nguyen Thuy Nga will continue to accompany Ho Chi Minh City Open University in the role of lecturer, contributing to teaching and supporting academic and administrative duties. This continued commitment is a meaningful source of encouragement, contributing to the cohesion, stability, and sustainable development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
