Amidst the spirited and proud atmosphere of youth across the nation, on January 9, 2025, in Room 704, Ho Hao Hon Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University joyfully celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnamese Student Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025). This occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the glorious journey, marking the growth and significant contributions of the university's students to the cause of building and defending the nation.

Attending the program were: Dr. Do Sa Ky – Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University; Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President of the University; Mr. Tran Van Tri–Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Communications Office; along with representatives from the Youth Union and the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Comrade Le Thanh Long – President of the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City Open University for the 2023 – 2025 term, expressed his joy and gratitude for the attention and support that the Party Committee, the University Board, leaders of various departments, and offices have given to students over the past period. Comrade Long shared that in the last five years, the Student Association of the University has consistently held a significant position within the City-level Student Association and has been an outstanding unit, receiving commendations from the City People's Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association for many consecutive years.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University, sent his greetings to the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City Open University: "The Student Association has actively collaborated with the University in organizing numerous community support activities, benefiting society and contributing to enhancing the reputation and image of both the students and the University. The University hopes that the Student Association will continue to uphold its role and make even greater contributions to the cause of construction and development."

As part of the 2025 Spring Volunteer Campaign, the team from the Faculty of Business Administration at Ho Chi Minh City Open University visited the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House. Through this activity, the volunteers had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
The volunteer team from the Faculty of Economics and Public Management at Ho Chi Minh City Open University carried out a meaningful "return to the roots" activity. Students organized a visit to pay respects and offer incense in memory of the heroes and martyrs at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery. This activity not only demonstrated the younger generation's reverence and gratitude for the contributions of their forebears in building and defending the nation but also highlighted their patriotism and the moral principle of "remembering the source when drinking water."
In addition, students actively participated in movements such as the "typical 5 good students”, "Green Summer”, “Spring Volunteer Campaign”, and other community volunteer programs. Students strived for academic excellence, demonstrated creativity, and dynamism, and contributed numerous ideas to social development projects.
