The 2025 Lunar New Year Job Season to Support Students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University Who Cannot Return Home for Tet

Ho Chi Minh City Open University has implemented various practical activities to connect students with businesses to meet the demand for part-time jobs at the end of 2024 and during the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet). These activities not only provide opportunities to earn extra income but also offer hands-on experiences, helping students apply their acquired knowledge in real-world settings. Notably, the program focuses on supporting students who are far from home and unable to return for Tet, helping them find suitable jobs during this period.

On December 15, 2024, the university organized the 7th Part-Time Job Fair with the direct participation of 25 reputable companies such as CareerViet, Lotte Mart, Circle K, KFC Vietnam, Ministop, McDonald’s, Jollibee, FamilyMart, and Golden Gate, offering over 1,800 part-time job positions, including 400 internship opportunities. Additionally, 85 other companies participated in recruitment through the university’s online job portal, opening up flexible job-seeking opportunities for students. On this occasion, the university also conducted a quick survey on students' job needs during Tet to promptly provide suitable job opportunities.

During the Lunar New Year, the university will launch the "Tet Job Season" program. The program aims to help students gain practical experience through seasonal or part-time work at reputable and safe businesses and to support students in covering their living and study expenses.

The Peak Month of Online Recruitment Information Program: Tet Job Season at Ho Chi Minh City Open University takes place from December 15, 2024, to February 15, 2025.

At the festival, the University awarded 30 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, to outstanding students with excellent academic and training achievements and difficult circumstances from various faculties.

Students receive the Lunar New Year (Tet) scholarships.

In addition, every year, to understand the concerns of students who study far from home when purchasing train or bus tickets during the Lunar New Year (Tet), the University implements a program to support Tet travel tickets for students. This initiative aims to share the burden with students who are far from home, providing them with more motivation to strive for better academic and personal development. This year, 12 affiliated faculties will gift 60 Tet travel tickets, each valued at 400,000-500,000 VND, to students far from home, with a total value of up to 30 million VND.
