On November 9, 2024, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Ho Chi Minh City Open University organized a gathering with the theme "Converging and Spreading Knowledge" to celebrate the faculty's 32nd Anniversary at the Riverside Palace Convention and Wedding Center.
The event was attended by Dr. Do Sa Ky – Party Committee Secretary and chairman of the University Council, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University, Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the University, Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President of the University, along with leaders of various departments, faculties, centers, lecturers, and alumni from different periods.
In his speech at the gathering, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University shared: "The University will continue to innovate its training programs in alignment with international standards and societal needs. At the same time, we will enhance the quality of our faculty, improve management practices, and develop support services for learners. Additionally, the University will expand its master's and doctoral programs to meet labor market demands and strengthen international cooperation to facilitate student and faculty exchanges as well as postgraduate study and teaching support."
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha expressed his deep gratitude to generations of lecturers and students who have contributed to the faculty’s strong development.
Over the past 32 years, the Graduate Training Faculty has trained more than 6,300 students, offering 12 domestic master's programs, 8 domestic doctoral programs, and multiple international partnership programs with Australia, Belgium, Germany, France, and others. To date, the faculty has seen over 5,000 graduates receiving master's degrees and 24 doctoral researchers earning their PhDs.
One of the highlights of the event was the generous contributions from alumni to the University's Scholarship Fund, providing educational opportunities for underprivileged students striving for academic excellence.
The gathering was not only an opportunity to reflect on the Graduate School 32-year journey of development but also a chance for alumni to reunite with their professors and classmates, reminiscing about their cherished memories at the University. Additionally, it served as a platform for alumni to share insights and contribute ideas for the Graduate School future growth, further strengthening the bonds between generations of students, lecturers, and the University.
